Privacy Policy & Terms

Section 1

Privacy Policy

miniPhoto is built to convert photos and videos on your iPhone without sending them anywhere. This policy explains what that means in practice.

No tracking

miniPhoto does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, fingerprinting libraries, or any tracking domains. The app does not build a user profile and does not share information with marketing partners.

Photos stay on your device

All conversion, scanning, format estimation, and screenshot detection runs locally on your iPhone or iPad. miniPhoto does not upload your photo library, your converted copies, or any image content to a server.

Photo Library access

miniPhoto requests Photo Library access so it can:

Limited library access is fully supported — if you grant access to only some photos, miniPhoto works inside that smaller set.

Files miniPhoto creates

Converted copies are saved to your Photos library inside a date-stamped Converted album. The originals miniPhoto used for that batch are grouped in a matching Originals album so you can review or clean them up in Apple's Photos app yourself. miniPhoto never deletes your originals.

Purchases

The optional Pro Pack is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. miniPhoto receives only the entitlement status ("active" or "not active") — it never sees your payment details, Apple ID, or billing address.

Diagnostics

miniPhoto does not collect crash reports, performance traces, or usage telemetry. If iOS-level crash reporting is enabled in your device settings, anonymized reports may be sent to Apple by the operating system; that's outside miniPhoto's control.

Children

miniPhoto is rated for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from children. Because the app collects no data at all, no special handling is required for users under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy posture of miniPhoto ever changes — for example, if a future version optionally syncs converted copies to a server — this page will be updated and a note will appear inside the app before the change ships.

Section 2

Terms of Use

What miniPhoto does

miniPhoto is a photo and video conversion utility for iOS. It transcodes HEIC photos, Live Photos, and HEVC videos into more portable formats, preserves motion where the chosen format supports it, and stores the results in your Photo library.

Originals are not deleted

miniPhoto does not delete the photos or videos it converts. Any clean-up of originals is something you choose to do yourself inside Apple's Photos app, after reviewing the originals album miniPhoto creates.

Pro Pack

Pro Pack is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks larger batch selection, the Library scan, non-photo (screenshot / document) scan, and full compression and resize controls. There is no subscription. Availability and pricing are governed by Apple's App Store policies for your region.

You can restore a previous Pro Pack purchase at any time from the paywall screen or from Settings — restores are handled by Apple's StoreKit using the Apple ID active on the device.

Best-effort conversion

miniPhoto aims to preserve metadata (capture date, GPS, EXIF camera tags) and Live Photo motion whenever the selected output format can hold them. Some characteristics cannot survive a format change — for example, Apple HDR gain maps and Dolby Vision profiles do not exist in JPEG or H.264 MP4. miniPhoto exposes the chosen quality, resize, and motion options so you can make this trade-off knowingly, but it cannot guarantee a 1:1 reproduction of every codec-specific feature.

Storage

Converted copies are saved into your Photo library. Depending on the chosen output format, the resulting copies may be smaller, the same size, or larger than the originals. Before deleting any originals, you are encouraged to verify the converted copies look correct.

No warranty

miniPhoto is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Always maintain your own backup of important photos and videos — for example by enabling iCloud Photos, AirDrop'ing copies to a Mac, or exporting to Files.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use miniPhoto to convert or process content you do not have the right to handle, and not to attempt to reverse-engineer or repackage the app for distribution outside the App Store.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continued use of miniPhoto after an update means you accept the current version of the terms.
